Announcing Jaxon Bell last week, Copeland Motorsports is pleased to confirm Westin Workman to their Toyota GR Cup North America program in 2024. Workman, who comes into the season as a Toyota Development Driver (TD2), will look to follow in the footsteps of fellow Toyota driver and 2023 champion, Tyler Gonzalez.

“It has been a successful off season and a great start to 2024,” explained Workman. “I have some big shoes to fill to try and follow in the success of Tyler (Gonzalez), but I am up for the challenge. I know I have the right team to win as they have proved that last season, and I am confident in my abilities as a driver to help Copeland Motorsports, and myself, add to our racing resumes.”

Workman, who is 19 years of age, joins the TD2 program after a successful debut in his first Toyota GR Cup Series event at Road America last season. The North Carolina native impressed with two top-five runs, including one podium finish, and is now set for a run at the title with the championship-winning Copeland Motorsports effort.

“Westin has the natural skills and abilities of a race-winning driver, and we are happy that he is racing with us in 2024, and not against us,” expressed Copeland Motorsports’ Dean Copeland. “Westin has impressed us this off-season showing speed in testing. We have a strong driver lineup for 2024, and Westin is another piece to our race-winning, and championship-winning efforts.”

With the first event just under eight weeks away, Workman will gain some valuable test time with Copeland Motorsports prior to the first green flag of the season in April.

Workman added, “I am ready to get started. We will push hard every test and race to make sure we are 110% prepared and successful.”

With the first event taking place at the famed Sonoma Raceway in California, the seven-event program will begin on the April 5-7 weekend before concluding in Indianapolis in early October. The complete 2024 Toyota GR Cup North America schedule can be found below.
