Adding another driver to their already elite program, Copeland Motorsports is pleased to welcome Bryan Ortiz back to the Battery Tender Global MX-5 Cup presented by BF Goodrich program. As a multi-time race winner in 2018, Ortiz enters 2019 with renewed focus and energy as he and Copeland Motorsports make a bid for the overall series championship.

“Bryan is a great driver and should be a championship contender this year,” explained Copeland Motorsports Dean Copeland. “Returning to our program for a third season provides consistency and a sense of familiarity that is needed in such a competitive series.”

Entering 2019, Ortiz will run his familiar Bella Racing Group backed Copeland Motorsports #4 entry in his quest for the series title as he joins four other Copeland Motorsports entries. Running the new ND2 car with an additional 25 horsepower, Ortiz is confident in both his chances at victory, as well as even better racing which he is very much anticipating.

“With three wins last season, I really feel that we had the speed to stand atop the championship podium at the end of the year but a few unfortunate issues took that away from us,” explained Ortiz. “Finishing only 14 points away from the title has made me even hungrier this year, and I cannot wait to get the season started. The additional 25 horsepower is something that I am looking forward to as well.”

With the 2019 season on the horizon, Bryan Ortiz and Copeland Motorsports will kick off the year at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas March 22-24. As the winner of the COTA event in 2018, Ortiz and Copeland Motorsports are looking to start the season off on the right foot and continue their momentum from their victory together at the final event of the 2018 season, as well as defend the title of race winner at COTA. Running all of their series events alongside the NTT IndyCar Series, the Global MX-5 Cup competes at some of North America’s top motorsports venues.

Copeland continued, “We have an opportunity to run one more driver in the Global MX-5 Cup as well as several opportunities in the Pirelli World Challenge TC America series. With several tests and SCCA race weekends planned over the next few weeks, we invite interested drivers to contact us to inquire about our unique opportunities.”
