After a great weekend at the Streets of St. Petersburg, Copeland Motorsports is now primed and ready for the next round of the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich. Taking on the famed 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, the Maryland based program will enter a quartet of drivers. With three top-five finishes and all drivers finishing in the top-ten at the most recent round, Copeland Motorsports will change very little this weekend as hard work and consistency leads to success in the ultra-competitive series.

“We are tending in the right direction,” explained Dean Copeland. “Our rookies are gaining experience and working their way to the top of the results sheets while our veterans are pushing them along. After a disappointing start to the season, our two most recent event weekends have been huge strides in the right direction, and we have our goals set high for Mid-Ohio.”

Flying the Copeland Motorsports flag this coming weekend will be Luca Mars, Bryan Ortiz, Peter Atwater and Daniel Williams. Ortiz, the 2019 series champion, currently sits fifth in the overall championship points chase while Mars is eighth, but third in the Rookie of the Year battle. Atwater and Williams have shown front of the field speed as the four drivers will be working together to find their way to the front of the field in Ohio.

Copeland added, “Race wins and podiums are the goal. If we continue what we have been doing, there should be no reason why we can’t complete those goals this weekend.”
