After winning the opening rounds of the Toyota GR Cup North America claiming the top spot in every official on-track session, Copeland Motorsports heads to the second event weekend of 2024 with the Driver and Team Championship point lead in hand. Descending on the Sebring International Raceway for the May 3-5 event, Copeland Motorsports will bring the same quintet of drivers, who all sit in the top-seven in points, in an effort to repeat Sonoma Raceway results.
“It was a great start to the season, but we need to keep our foot to the floor and rack up the wins and podiums when we can,” explained Dean Copeland. “I think we set the bar high in Sonoma, and other teams will be gunning for us. The championship is full of talent and both drivers and our team need to be our A-game.”
Heading to the Sunshine State, Gresham Wagner is atop the point standings with 50 markers courtesy of his double-win performance in Sonoma just about one month ago. Behind him, and with two podium results on his 2024 resume, is Westin Workman while Jaxon Bell puts a trio of Copeland Motorsports drivers in the top-five in points sitting fifth. With consistent finishes, Adam Brickley slots into the sixth position while female driver Mia Lovell is seventh, the top female in the series, and comes to Sebring looking for more.
Copeland added, “We tested at the Sebring International Raceway in the off-season and are prepared as we ready for another event. The goal is simple for us as we want to win, podium, and repeat our Sonoma performance.”
