Growing up at a racetrack and following his father Townsend, Jaxon Bell is now on the path to be a professional in the world of motorsports. Confirming a Toyota GR Cup North America program with the championship-winning Copeland Motorsports program, Bell will look to continue from the success attained in 2023 at the Skip Barber Racing Series where he earned six victories in 16 events.
“Jaxon is quite quick for the experience that he has,” explains Copeland Motorsports’ Dean Copeland. “He had a ton of success in open-wheel racing in 2023 and was impressive in the limited GR Cup running that he did last season earning a pair of podium results.”
“I am anxious and excited to get 2024 underway,” adds Bell. “Copeland Motorsports is one of the best teams in the paddock, and I am thankful for the opportunity to compete in their program. The results and success they had last season were tremendous, and I hope that I can continue that trend and add to their results in 2024.”
Hailing from Pacific Palisades, California, Jaxon began his motorsports career two years ago. In his first full season of racing, he won six of the 16 races in the Skip Barber Racing Formula Series. Jaxon also competed in a partial season of the 2023 Toyota GR Cup North America program where he finished with two podium results and five top-five finishes in just the ten races he competed in. Jaxon will look to continue his success as he joins Copeland Motorsports for the full 2024 season in the Toyota GR Cup.
Bell doesn’t bring just talent to the Copeland Motorsports squad; he brings partners as well that assist him in his race program. Joining Bell for four events in 2024 will be BraunAbility, which is the world’s leading manufacturer of mobility transportation solutions, including wheelchair accessible vehicles, wheelchair lifts and seating, storage, and securement products. Founded over 50 years ago by Ralph Braun, an entrepreneur who spent most of his life in a wheelchair, the company has grown into the most well-known and trusted name in the mobility industry, bringing independence to millions of individuals across the world. BraunAbility is a wholly owned subsidiary of Patricia Industries, a division of Investor AB Group.
Additionally, Bell will have SynerComm Cybersecurity as an event partner for Road America. Known for cybersecurity done right, on time, and on budget, SynerComm has worked with enterprises and service providers to securely integrate new technologies like generative AI into their workflows and to access, validate and mitigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities that create business risk.
Copeland continues, “We welcome BraunAbility and SynerComm to the family and can’t wait to get started. We have some additional test days planned which should help Jaxon get to the point needed to compete for race wins and podium results when our 2024 season officially kicks off in April, and look to keep the Copeland Motorsports brand on the top of the podium as we did in 2023.”
With the first event taking place at the famed Sonoma Raceway in California, the seven-event program will begin on the April 5-7 weekend before concluding in Indianapolis in early October. The complete 2024 Toyota GR Cup North America schedule can be found below.
