With back-to-back Toyota GR Cup North America championships and a new season on the horizon, Copeland Motorsports is pleased to announce 14-year-old Jenson Sofronas to the program for their 2025 campaign.

“Jenson is young, but a driver that could reap major benefits from our experience, data, video, and driver coaching efforts,” explained Dean Copeland. “Jenson has a little experience under his belt in the GR Cup North America series, but we will look to help mold him into a better driver, and future champion of the sport.”

Competing at the VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) with a different program in 2024, these two events are high on the list of anticipation for Sofronas.

“My goals are to achieve the best results possible but also to learn and have constant progression throughout the season by improving better each race weekend,” explained the 14-year-old. “I have a ton to learn, and while I would love to be fighting for race wins, I just want to make sure that I am comfortable racing wheel-to-wheel and battling with some of the best GR Cup teams and drivers in the country.”

With two GR Cup North America Series events last season and a limited karting schedule over the past four seasons, Sofronas enters 2025 light on experience but high on motivation and dedication.

Sofronas added, “I will use the #41 in 2025, a pivotal year in my racing. I want to show promising results, and I have no excuse for racing with a program like Copeland Motorsports, with its past success and experiences.”

The 2025 Toyota GR Cup North America schedule will consist of seven event weekends and 14 wheel-to-wheel races commencing in early March in California.
