As the calendar turns to September, it is time for the penultimate event weekend in the Toyota GR Cup North America Series. Set to take on the famed Barber Motorsports Park, Copeland Motorsports will bring the same four-driver lineup that saw success at the most recent round at Road America.
“We are keeping things consistent as it seems to be working,” explained Copeland Motorsports’ Dean Copeland. “We are back in Alabama this weekend with wins, podiums, and championships on our minds.”
Coming into the Leeds, Alabama event, Copeland Motorsports continues to have a stranglehold on both the Team and Drivers Championship. Gresham Wagner is currently atop the driver points championship as Copeland Motorsports occupies the top-two positions, with Westin Workman in second. The ever-fast and race-winning Jaxon Bell will be back behind the wheel as he sits fourth in the title chase, with Mia Lovell rounding out the top-ten in tenth.
Copeland added, “We need to continue to do what we have been doing, and we should be in a good position leaving this weekend’s event.”
The Barber Motorsports Park event will feature the standard three-day GR Cup North America weekend with a pair of practice sessions on Friday. Saturday will feature qualifying one and race one, while Sunday will see qualifying two and race two.
