This weekend, Toyota GR Cup North America traveled to Texas for rounds three and four of the championship at the renowned Circuit of The Americas (COTA). Copeland Motorsports, fielding six drivers, emerged from the weekend with three wins and multiple podium finishes, with drivers finishing in the top-ten across both wheel-to-wheel races.

“We’re thrilled to be back in the winner’s circle, and I’m incredibly proud of all our drivers for their hard work and performance this weekend,” said Team Owner Dean Copeland. “With three wins, several podiums, and top-ten finishes, we’re carrying some great momentum into the rest of the season.”

Race One Recap:
In qualifying for race one, three Copeland drivers earned top-ten starting positions. Jaxon Bell led the charge with the second-fastest lap of the session. John Dean, competing in the Legends Class, qualified sixth, while Ford Koch secured the eighth spot. Jenson Sofronas qualified 11th, Beltre Curtis was 16th, and Zach Hollingshead rounded out the field in 18th.

During Saturday’s race, Bell held his position and finished second, while Dean fought his way to third, earning his first-ever podium finish in the Legends category. Dean’s result made him the first-ever Legends driver to stand on the GR Cup podium. Sofronas and Koch also earned top-ten finishes, crossing the line in eighth and tenth, respectively. Hollingshead finished 12th and Curtis finished 17th.

Race Two Recap:
The second qualifying session saw Bell secure pole position, with Koch qualifying fifth and Dean starting in eighth. Sofronas was 11th, Curtis 13th, and Hollingshead 17th.

In race two, Bell delivered a solid performance, winning his first race of the season and securing Copeland Motorsports’ first national win of the weekend. Dean clinched another podium finish, crossing the line in third and winning the Legends category for the second time. Koch finished fourth, while Sofronas took ninth. Hollingshead finished 13th, with Curtis just behind in 14th. All six Copeland drivers finished in the top-15.

“Jaxon had an exceptional weekend, proving he’s a real contender for the title this season,” Copeland said. “It was fantastic to see John on the podium in both races, and as the highest-finishing Legends driver. All of our drivers put on great performances and secured solid results. I’m confident in our team and excited to see what we can accomplish as the season continues.”

Next up for Copeland Motorsports and the Toyota GR Cup North America is a trip to Sebring International Raceway for rounds five and six of the championship, scheduled for May 16-18.
